Five years has past and still...

 

We will always remember. If we don't, history is doomed to repeat itself.

In the course of the past 5 years, our family has met some wonderful people that were closely touched by this act of cowardice. One person in particular is Tom Roberts. On September 11, 2001 he had no idea that his son would not be with him much longer.  His son, Michael was assigned to Ladder Company 35 in Manhattan. His unit responded to the South Tower. Bravely doing what he loved to do, he went in to try and help people. He went in to save as many as he could, sadly all members working that day in L35 and E40, who worked out of the same firehouse were lost. Michael's remains were never recovered and the Twin Tower's site, like with so many others, remains his tomb. A solemn place for those that survive to reflect on the person they lost. A place to pay their respects and remember all that was lost. 

With all of this, how could anyone forget?

Michael, we won't forget! 

You will never be forgotten!

 

 On September 11, 2001, our freedom was once again challenged. Innocent people of all races, religions and nationalities were murdered, senselessly.  The lives of many were lost and the shelter of security was torn. In one brief moment Washington, New York and Pennsylvania were forever changed. Five years later, five years older and still we mourn. 

 

 In Unity we have mourned the dead. 

We have shed tears for the innocent families torn apart, innocent children that will never see Mommy or Daddy again.  

In Unity we have grieved. 

In Unity we have tried to regain our lives and in unity we have tried to rebuild. 

We will persevere. We are strong, we are brave, we are free. 

We will survive to see another dawn in true freedom. 

Our flag, she still flies high, our people are still strong, we are still the home of the free and the land of the brave! 

We will never forget the "everyday heroes". 

Our Firefighters and Police Officers who lost their lives trying to save. 

 

We will never forget the people who took charge on United Airlines flight 93, 

taking a chance and losing their lives trying to save others. 

We will never forget those lost in the Pentagon. 

We will never forget those that will never be found.

Let us continue to pray for our Military,  those that are once again putting their lives on the line, in hopes that they can stop this reign of worldwide terrorism. They are dedicated and proud, they are separated from their families and country in a completely different world. It matters not if you are "for the war" or "against the war," what matters is that we all support these brave men and women on our armed forces.

Remember they are giving their all for our continued freedom, as they have done proudly so many times before. 

They are the men and women who will secure freedom for future generations, worldwide.

We have come together. 

Let us continue this bond, as we keep trying to pick up the pieces.

 Let us now and forever remain united.

Let our freedom, pride and unity be known, worldwide. 

Let us stand strong and proud. 

Let it be known to all that we will not allow anyone to take our unity and freedom away.

For the family members and friends of those that are no longer with us because of this tragedy, for the military families who have lost because of this tragedy, we continue to pray for you and we will forever hold you in our hearts. 

On this, the fifth anniversary of this horrendous travesty, 

We ask that you continue to pray for the families and friends who are left behind. 

We ask that you continue to pray for the service members of all allied countries,

 that are defending this Earth from acts of cowardly terrorism.  

We ask that you continue to pray for the innocent people, worldwide that are caught up in this. 

May God bless and keep us all... Worldwide.

 

 

~ Our music is "Going Home" played on the Bagpipes. We chose this because everyone lost that day went home. They went to a much better place where there is no war, no hatred and no prejudice. They are all the same there, and they are all looking down on us with loving eyes. ~
